Measured Moments
By Jennifer Garcia, Founder of Spiritual Spectra

For a shining bright new day,
Puffy clouds floating on their way,
The soft beating in my chest,
After a night of good rest,
I smile with gratitude,
For my sunny attitude.

Little things I treasure most,
Of which I rarely boast,
A smile on a loved one’s face,
A kind word filled with grace,
A helping hand when needed,
A stranger warmly greeted.

We often take for granted,
that which is freely handed,
What comes from up above,
Or from the ones who we love,
Take some time to measure,
Every moment of pleasure.

Some days it’s pouring rain,
Or your heart is filled with pain,
Good memories are rainbows,
Reminders as your tears flow,
That what you feel is fleeting,
Soon new days you’ll be greeting.

So for today, take stock;
Not what’s missing, what you got;
Life’s too short, to live with regret;
A held tongue not having said;
Two little words, that are due;
From your heart, say THANK YOU!
