Social Media Marketing Internship

Seeking eager, self-motivated college students for Social Media Marketing Internship at Spiritual Spectra. If you’re looking for an internship that is fulfilling – helping others, fun – working in a positive environment, holistic – understanding of mind-body-spirit connection, and educational – learning social media marketing skills with hands-on experience that you can add to your resume, then you’ve found it!

Position Information:
This is an unpaid internship providing students with experience in Social Media Marketing under the supervision of a former Web Designer and Social Media Marketer. Duties assigned will include updating of Spiritual Spectra’s social media sites and blog; assistance with marketing efforts including email marketing; promotion of speaking engagements and services; and administrative functions. The internship positions are available for Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters.

Educational and Mentoring Plan for Internship:
Students are given project assignments and mentored directly by the owner of the business. The owner of the business has earned a Master’s Degree in English and Certificates in Web Design and Graphic Design. The owner previously owned a Web Design, Graphic Design and Social Media Marketing business for seven years and prior to the business taught and advised in higher education.

Students are given projects on a daily or weekly basis depending on the size of the project (students work 2 days a week, 4-5 hours approximately each day). All project assignments are on a calendar for students to see in advance what new projects they will be expected to complete. In addition to assigned projects, students are highly encouraged to brainstorm, create, develop, and complete a creative project that enhances their classroom learning, focuses on their career goals and can serve as their portfolio for future career search.

This internship may be completed for credit toward a degree; however, it is the student’s sole responsibility to contact the appropriate university faculty and administrators to determine eligibility, registration and completion of all necessary coursework to earn the credits.

Hours:
Approximately 10-12 hours a week with a flexible schedule

Length of Internship:
Internships are offered for the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer semesters. The length of the internship is based on the academic calendar of the student’s university. For students seeking to earn credit toward their degree, the length of the internship also depends on the total amount of hours the student is required to complete by their university program.

Benefits:
All interns can list Spiritual Spectra as job experience on their resume after their internship. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in networking events and expos (virtually). Successful interns will receive a letter of recommendation either for their next position or scholarship and can list Spiritual Spectra as a reference on their resumé. Successful is defined as exceeding not just meeting expectations.
